Organised by the Macau Special Olympics and title-sponsored by SJM Resorts S.A. (“SJM”), two events from the 2022 SJM “Take to the Skies Together” community activity series took place over the weekends of 16 and 23 of October 2022. These include “PHAB fitness at home” and "Explore Social Enterprise and Macau Science Centre” respectively.

The “PHAB fitness at home” online event was held from 8 August to 6 September 2022, bringing parents, students and volunteers together to exercise in the safety and comfort of their homes during the pandemic as they follow along professional videos led by paralympic coaches and sports therapists, designed to support participants in maintaining their physical and mental well-being.  Over 50 students and volunteers were recognized at the award ceremony.  Lawn bowling and golf experiences were also hosted on the same day, with SJM volunteers assisting in explaining the game rules and basic techniques, strengthening bonds through mutual understanding and caring.

At the "Explore Social Enterprise and Macau Science Centre” event, a team of SJM volunteers escorted a mentally challenged group to visit “Dream of Sexagenarian”, a social enterprise restaurant run by the elderly, where they learnt how the restaurant offers employment opportunities to the elderly and those with special needs. Following such, the group toured around the Macau Science Centre, which inspired their interest in general science knowledge.

Ms. Angela Leong, Chairman of the SJM Staff Consultative Committee, expressed her gratitude towards the Paralympic Committee for the joint effort in contributing to the building of an integrated and inclusive society. She encouraged SJM volunteers to actively participate and support SJM in discharging CSR duties, spreading love and care to the community and the underprivileged.
