Organised by the Macau Special Olympics and title-sponsored by SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), the 2022 SJM "Take to the Skies Together" community activity series successfully kicked off with 6 families enthusiastically visited the Macao Giant Panda Pavilion on 8 October 2022.

At the event, the first of the 2022 SJM "Take to the Skies Together” community activity series, members from SJM Volunteer Team offered their time and effort as 1-on-1 escorts for each of the 6 Special Olympics families, enabling them to engage in more meaningful exchanges and gain further insights into the lives of those with special needs. In addition to visiting the Giant Panda Pavilion, they also toured neighbouring botanical gardens and amassed new knowledge about nature and wildlife, especially on instincts and habits of Giant Pandas. It was an exceptional family-bonding opportunity which was both fun and educational.

Ms. Angela Leong, Director of SJM and Chairman of the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee graced the event and showed her support.  She was particularly heartened by the unwavering efforts made towards caring for those with special needs, despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. SJM will continue to host different events that promote diversity and inclusion, foster positive attitude and can-do spirit through all-rounded learning experiences tailored for individuals with special needs, and promote social harmony within the community.
