SJM invites Caritas Macau families to tour the “Artistic Lantern Festival” in celebration of the National Day
To celebrate the National Day, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) and Centro de Serviços Integrados de Apoio à Família - Fonte de Alegria e de Energia, Caritas Macau invited single-parent families to the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”), to participate in activities as part of the “Celebration of Art & Culture - Artistic Lantern Festival”, including the “Chinese National Day Lantern Making Workshop,” a guided tour to the artistic lantern exhibition, as well as a series of interactive AR games on 2 October 2022. On this important day for the country, SJM promoted the virtues of family affection and appreciation of national heritage.
Twenty-four participants arrived at Grand Lisboa Palace and created an original lantern depicting a dancing lion under the guidance of instructor from the Macau Artist Society, co-organiser of the “Celebration of Art & Culture – Artistic Lantern Festival” event. Everyone enjoyed the Lantern-making workshop and revelled in Chinese traditional crafts. Leaving with their handmade lanterns, participants went on a tour to admire the spectacular lantern installations in Jardim Secreto. Accompanied by Grand Lisboa Palace docents, participants learnt the stories behind each lantern’s conception, and how the exhibit preserves Chinese tradition while celebrates local Macau artisanal excellence. The brilliant showcase is a testament to traditional technique and modern ingenuity, jointly created by six local grand masters and eight young artists. As participants strolled through the exhibition, they experienced immersive interactive AR games specially designed for the event, a fun-filled crossover experience between art and technology.
Firmly rooted in Macau, SJM has been on the forefront of organizing and supporting charitable events to spread warmth and care as well as build a harmonious society. SJM will continue to collaborate with local organizations in promotion of an inclusive and supportive culture within the community.
“Celebration of Art and Culture – Artistic Lantern Festival” is currently on display at Grand Lisboa Palace – West Lobby (24 hours), Jardim Secreto (Daily 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm) and Grand Lisboa Macau – Hotel Lobby (24 hours).
