SJM Caring Volunteer Team immediately rose to the challenge during community-wide screening
In response to Macau SAR Government’s community-wide nucleic-acid test programme for COVID-19, 45 members of SJM immediately volunteered their assistance at the “Caring Stations” located within Olympic Sport Centre Stadium in Taipa. From the stroke of midnight of 21 June 2022, they served a total of 12 hours across two shifts and extended supporting care to children, expectant mothers, seniors and the disabled to ensure a smooth and expedient experience.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM expressed her profound gratitude to all volunteer staff and frontline personnel for their active involvement and determination in the fight against the health crisis as their selfless act plays an invaluable role in the government’s dedicated efforts in safeguarding public health.
Managing Director of SJM and Chairman of the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee Ms. Angela Leong recounted that SJM Volunteer Team was launched in 2017 and has since continued to gain momentum as a force for good. Members of the team participated in government-organized workshops on a regular basis. Ms. Leong hoped that, through understanding the value of their contributions to oneself and to society, more staff could join in the meaningful cause.
