Starting 5 January 2022, SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) and Macau Labour Affairs Bureau co-hosted the “Occupational Safety and Health Week” (“the event”) at three of its properties including Grand Lisboa, Jai Alai Hotel and Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. Through a combination of programs including seminars, workshops, health assessment games and nutritional working meals menu design contest, staff gained all-rounded knowledge concerning health and safety at the workplace, which is fundamental to an enjoyable corporate culture. SJM was also the first enterprise to introduce cooking contest to the event.

SJM is a responsible employer which holds staff safety and wellness as first priorities.  The company is committed to providing a hazard-free environment, as well as proper training and education for its staff members. Its Health and Safety department has organised over 200 training sessions under a variety of themes, with over 85% employees successfully obtaining “Hotel and Catering Occupational Safety Card”, among whom are new employees joining Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau in 2021.
