SJM and Orbis jointly help kids see the colours of the world
SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) fully supports Orbis in its global drive to change the lives of visually impaired children by providing eye-care, treatment and restoring their sight. From the next three days, SJM and Orbis will host a series of educational and fundraising events which include an “Eye Health Seminar” for SJM employees and the “Orbis Raffle 2022” charity sale. SJM is also one of the gift sponsors of the Orbis Raffle by sponsoring a gift at a value close to MOP60,000.
SJM invited Orbis Macau to host the “Eye Health Seminar” at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau (“Grand Lisboa Palace”) today. During this interactive seminar, employees wore blindfolds to experience life in a world of darkness. Orbis raised awareness around the importance of eye protection and encouraged employees to care for eye disease sufferers. Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM; Ms. Isabel da Silva, Director of Development, Orbis Macau and members of the SJM management team, also attended the seminar.
In addition to the seminar, Orbis also sets up “Help kids see the colours of the world” Raffle Charity Sales counters in the back-of-house areas of Grand Lisboa Palace between 25 and 27 May. The goal is to encourage employees to support Orbis by raising the vital funds needed to restore the sight of visually impaired children in developing countries.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, said, “SJM is very pleased to join hands with Orbis Macau to brighten the lives of children with eye diseases. We hope that by hosting a series of engaging and meaningful events, our employees will gain a much deeper understanding of eye care and more people in our community will be encouraged to care about those who suffer from eye diseases.”
Ms. Isabel da Silva, Director of Development, Orbis Macau said, “I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to SJM for promoting the importance and emphasising the need for education for eye care. I am also grateful to SJM for supporting our global effort in the fight against avoidable blindnesses, and bringing hope to more patients who suffer from eye diseases.”
