
SJM and CTA Tour Organizing Committee invite China’s top tennis players to host a Youth Talk to inspire college students
SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), proud title sponsor of the 2021 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships jointly held a Youth Talk with the Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) at the University of Macau (UMAC) on 8 December 2021. SJM and CTA Tour Organizing Committee invited internationally renowned Chinese tennis player, Ms. Li Na; China’s two rising stars in tennis, Mr. Hua Runhao and Ms. Zhu Aiwen as well as UMAC alumni Ms. Sharon Au Ieong, one of Macau’s most outstanding athletes and the MSAR Flag Bearer for the Asian Games, to be guest speakers for the inspirational Youth Talk.
Officiating guests of the Youth Talk included Professor So Kee Long, Vice Rector (Student Affairs) of University of Macau; Professor Iu Vai Pan, College Master of Stanley Ho East Asia College; Professor Mok Kai Meng, College Master of Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College; Dr. Rui Cunha, Secretary-General of SJM and Mr. Daniel Shim, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of SJM. Throughout the Youth Talk, the guest speakers shared their successful experiences as professional athletes and the hard work that goes into training, in an effort to encourage more youths to get involved in sports in the future.
The University of Macau provided its Student Activity Centre as a venue for the sharing session, and the event was successfully held in collaboration with the Stanley Ho East Asia College and Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College.
Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, said, “With the support of the Chinese Tennis Association, SJM is honoured to have invited internationally renowned tennis player Ms. Li Na and two talented Chinese tennis players for a Youth Talk at University of Macau, where they share their training experiences and success stories. We wish to thank Rector Professor Song Yonghua and all participating units of the university for their assistance and support.” Ms. Ho continued, “Dedicated to the development of sports and to the nurturing of future talents, we hope that, through this sharing session, the students can gain a deeper understanding about the achievements of China in sports, and take pride in working together in fulfilling the Chinese dream.”
