Titled-sponsored by SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”), the SJM Formula 4 Macau Grand Prix held its first race on 20 November 2021. The champion was Charles Leong Hong Chio, and Andy Chang Wing Chung and Li Si Cheng got second and third place, respectively. Managing Director of SJM Ms. Angela Leong and Secretary-General Dr. Rui Cunha watched the race and presented the trophies to the winners for the company.

In an effort to promote this international sports event to the young generation, SJM invited 10 students from Stanley Ho East Asia College of the University of Macau and Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College of the University of Macau for a guided tour of the Macau Grand Prix paddock, including a visit to the garage of the drivers Charles Leong Hong Chio and Andy Chang Wing Chung on 20 November. The tour gave the students an opportunity to learn more about the event operation and to develop an interest in motorsport, making them feel proud of this locally-developed international sports event.

Ms. Daisy Ho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJM, remarked, “We hope that the young people will gain a new appreciation for this spectacular motorsport event after the tour, and join forces with us in promoting Macau. Meanwhile we congratulate the winners of the first race of the SJM Formula 4 Macau Grand Prix today, and look forward to another exciting finale race on Sunday.”

In support of the Macau Grand Prix and Macau Food Festival, SJM’s Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau and Grand Lisboa Hotel have launched a series of themed promotions that highlight Macau gastronomy and car racing, committed to promoting Macau as a safe travel destination and a “world centre of tourism and leisure”.
