SJM Volunteer Team assists in the second mass nucleic acid testing programme
In view of the confirmed Covid-19 cases recently reported in Macau, the city entered a state of immediate prevention. SJM Resorts, S.A. (“SJM”) immediately activated the emergency sub-team under the SJM Volunteer Team, offering support to the government’s three-day mass nucleic acid testing programme starting from 3 pm on 25 September 2021. The SJM team provided on site assistance to the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with disabilities at the special care station located inside the Olympic Sports Centre. Two teams, comprising a total of 123 staff attendance, were divided into six shifts within the three-day programme.
Ms. Angela Leong, Managing Director of SJM and Chairman of the SJM Staff Welfare Consultative Committee talked about the emergency team, which was formed in the wake of typhoon Hato in 2017, aiming to provide immediate assistance to the public in times of needs and contributing to the recovery works of the community. By participating in a training course organised by Macau Social Welfare Bureau in June, the team members had learnt how to take care of people with special needs and they applied what they had learnt during this 3-day programme.
SJM stands in solidarity with the Macau people in fighting the virus and wishes a speedy recovery of the community.
