The Staff Welfare Consultative Committee (“SWCC”) of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) organised a visit to the “Fight The Epidemic – Thematic Exhibition of Combating with COVID-19” for its staff members and their children on 12 June 2021. Under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology, the exhibition was organised by the China Science and Technology Museum and co-organised by the Guangdong Science Center and the Macao Science Center. It is the first exhibition with the theme of combating COVID-19 in China. Different from the past graphic display, the exhibition adopted various touch-free interactive technologies to reduce social contacts and hence the risk of spreading virus effectively. The exhibition was divided into four sections, namely “Outbreak of the Epidemic”, “Weathering Trying Times Together”, “Scientific Prevention and Control” and “Lessons Learnt from the Epidemic”. Over 30 interactive and multi-media exhibits were displayed.

Around 70 SJM staff visited the exhibition with their children. They listened carefully to the explanation of the docent and learnt more about the causes of the illness through a number of interactive displays. They also watched a video telling the story of the medical team who rushed to the frontline in Hubei to help fight against the disease.

Ms. Angela Leong, Managing Director and Chairman of the Staff Welfare Consultative Committee of SJM, said, “Although one year has passed, the epidemic is still　fresh　in　our　memory. We would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to our medical staff for safeguarding the health of the people in China. We hope that our staff members and their children can deepen their knowledge about the disease and the preventive measures through the exhibition, and realise the importance of public health. This could help our team members to better protect themselves and others from infection, and together we will help build a healthy and safe Macau.”
