Dedicated to promoting environmental protection on energy saving, emission reduction and waste reduction, Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (“SJM”) was pleased to support the “Festival of the 2021 World Environment Day of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area” held 5 June 2021 at Amizade Square. As one of the programmes of the annual World Environment Day, the Festival was jointly organised by Macau Environmental Protection Bureau (“DSPA”) and the environmental protection departments of eleven cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

In response to the Macau Government’s call for encouraging customers to bring their own shopping bags, SJM donated the proceeds collected from the sale of plastic bags to Caritas Macau at the “Plastic Bag Charge” donation ceremony during the Festival. Dr. Paul Hung, President – Security & Surveillance, Environmental, Social and Governance of SJM, directed the donation cheque to DSPA that day, and a certificate of appreciation was presented to SJM in recognition of its support in community services and environmental protection.
